Experimentations with AI Test Kitchen and TouchDesigner:
For this short project I wanted to learn the basics of how to work in TouchDesigner as well as experiment with Googles AI Kitchen to create AI generated music.

Ideation
My idea was to use AI as a collaborator to build an audiovisual experience. I hoped the audio generation would inspire the visual movement I came up with.
Process
I started by prompting AI Kitchen with different prompts. Interestingly when I mixed together genres that differentiated a bit from one another in musicality things got really weird.
Final prompt → A deep house beat with a drum machine.

Reflection
I really enjoyed working in TouchDesigner and found the interface fairly simple to navigate. I liked how you could easily search any node or tool you were looking for. The color coordinated system for different operators makes it easy to find what you need. While prompting Google’s AI Test Kitchen I realized how little I know about music. The prompt generation does not work off of references from songs or artists. I imagine this is because of copywriting laws. In my next audio generation project I want to learn a bit more about specific instruments, terms, and musicality in general.
